This is a great set of bookends from the Art Deco era.
They are unmarked but they resemble Frankart pieces.

The deco dogs are made of silver metal that has been painted.
They are hollow with no felt on the bottom. Minor chips and crazing for their age.

This whimsical set of bookends was made by the Ornawood Company.
Master carvers made their molds. This explains the fine detail.

Pressed wood and resin were used to make
decorative pieces during the 1940s when the war
effort limited the availability of metal for frivolous items.

The original metal bases are intact without felt.
